God, I'm so incredulous about questioning the palindrominy of 77. Like HOW COULD YOU EVEN ASK.

I am jealous of that Belgian beer meetup.
Also I can't figure out what search terms to use to find that one podcast of all the mods reading off the swears from TPS's swears AskMe. Halp?

'7' (just like 'I', 'a', etc) is totally a palindrome too.

Oh for sure, I just mean that it's a palindrome like 1 is a square number: trivial cases make for sometimes not super compelling lay examples, etc, however important it may be to account for them in the definition of a thing.

As with most podcast thread titles, it's something one of us said extemporaneously during the podcast recording session. I think it was me in this case, talking about how the current informally Gay YA Fiction-themed "write a novel in November Mid-January" thing happening right now will end right around Valentines day and so people would be putting the finishing touches on their gay teen denouement, plus also I horribly mispronounced that word.

I'm honored to find my "more exciting than it sounds" post on how not to make self destructing furniture in this month's podcast. What motivated me was the realization that a comment I wanted to make on this post was likely to lead a lot of people astray since we're kind of trained to believe that with enough will (or glue and nails) we can bend nature to our will.
Anyhow, you raised an interesting question - about stringed instruments and how they respond to sudden changed in temperature and humidity (I mean, yeah, the answer is badly, but how badly), so I asked a cello player I know and she says that a traveling soloist (or someone living in a city where, if you don't like the weather, wait an hour and it'll change) has to re-tune pretty regularly, sometimes between every piece in a concert. Also, this same phenomenon will screw with your bows, so if you're serious about this sort of thing, you have an assortment of bows, strung at different tensions, so you can pick the one best suited with whatever the environment is throwing at you. There are also cases with humidifiers that help a little, but for a cello they make a big unwieldy thing even larger and more unwieldy.
And, yeah, if you're a big league soloist then you probably schedule a day or so for your instrument to equilibrate before you perform.

"Who, in Wichita Kansas has a boat dock?"
I used to live in suburban Kansas City, and until mathowie asked this question I had no idea there was anything other than this one random super expensive artificial lake housing development for people who want a million dollar home in Kansas.
So I checked out google maps view of Wichita, and yea, never seen that before in the midwest. It looks like most are near a canal and floodway for the Arkansas River which cuts through town.

FYI, Sleater-Kinney is a road in Lacey, which is next door to Olympia, 60 miles south of Seattle, capitol of the state of Washington and home of The Evergreen State College, where they went to school. (I work there now.)
Apparently they rented a house on that road. (Which is also where I go to shop at Target, Office Depot, and/or Fred Meyer.)
Macklemore is also an Evergreen grad, FWIW.
In conclusion, Evergreen is a land of contrasts.
...oh, wait...Matt Groening is also a Greener! Go geoducks!
