I just posted an AskMe with a dumb typo. Any chance of getting an edit window for Ask as well?
I confess I haven't read through the entire edit MeTa, so if this is answered there I apologize. But it would really help to have this feature when making an AskMe.

Thanks. It's a minor one and isn't worth worrying about.

werkzeuger, don't bother reading the edit window thread you're referring to. That's just wanking after the announcement. If you want to catch up on actual discussion on post editing, etc, click that little tag link over there → the one that says editwindow.

Yeah we already enforce mandatory preview for AskMe and MeFi and (I think?) the other sites so while it's something we may work on in the future, we're still ironing out the way it's being used currently and we want to let it settle in a bit more before adding more options/tweaks. We're always really speedy fixing things if you contact us via the contact form, so try that in the meantime.

They're super thorough, too.
Last week I forgot to close a tag on a post. I flagged it, then opened the contact window to ask the mods if they'd be kind enough to correct it. Right before I clicked send, I went back to the original page to grab the URL to paste into my memail, and noticed that the post had already been fixed. All of this happened within 2 minutes.
So instead of sending a "please fix my stupid typo" email, I sent one that said, "Thank you for fixing my stupid typo."
The response I got back from the mod who fixed it also pointed out a couple of other typos/formatting issues they had fixed while they were in there. :)

I ran into an issue posting today that I've had in the past - there was a borked link in the 'more inside' section, and any attempt to post just redirected to preview.
There wasn't any message or other indication of the problem, though. I remember there being error messages like: blank link, double, no title, etc. for other errors. It looks like the script replaces bad links with a link to the preview page, too. Does the script detect a link to the preview page and redirect?

and if you're a local Portland mefite you can also stand outside Cortex's window holding a boombox playing Peter Gabriel instead of using the contact form.

If you could send us the details to the contact form pb can investigate because, yeah, we would want you to get an error message and not just an endless loop.

Hey, about that AskMe: I really appreciate all the people who are out volunteering, helping smoothe out the wrinkles in the voting process. Thanks for doing that!

the man of twists and turns, here's what the error should look like in that situation. It's above the Preview button, where any other error messages are. If you run into it again, send me the text that's causing the error and I'll try to duplicate it here.

As someone who has had to ask the mods to correct a typo in probably half of the FPPs that I've posted, I can also confirm that they do so incredibly quickly. It's actually pretty impressive.
I should probably do a better job of proof-reading my posts, but it seems to be the ones that I proof-read most obsessively that end up being the ones with typos.

But the little paper strip across the top of the seat with "Hygienically sealed for your protection"... what's up with that?
