Say, that's swell that by providing "additional context" for your post to an old short story, escabeche, you made it "clear why you're posting it to MetaFilter". It's a good single-link archival content. Really, a very good post.

Sarcasm on the internet is dumb. I don't even know if this post represents jokey sarcasm; I'm mostly annoyed that I have to say this, so I'll say it again in the hopes that it will be the last time I need to.

I'm still trying to figure out if this is sarcasm. Is it, Ardiril? If so, it seems overly fighty and, I'm sorry to say, a bit jerkish.

I would say that the rash of seeming dickfaceishness is something that's turning me off of MeFi, but that would make me a liar and not a little hypocritical. Rather, it's the seeming dickfaceishness that doesn't make any sort of sense that rankles.

If you have something you want to discuss with the community, make it unambiguously clear what it is and skip this weirdness, because this is a waste of basically everyone's time. Metatalk is a resource for folks to have useful discussions about how this place works; please do not abuse that through either needless ambiguity or willful sarcasm.
