Music player won't pop February 28, 2012 10:10 AM   Subscribe

Popping out the Music player doesn't seem to work anymore.

Hitting the "pop out" link opens a new window with the Metafilter error page. Running Firefox 10.0.2, Windows 7.

Looks like a character encoding issue with one of the recent tracks. I'll see if I can narrow it down.

ok, it should be working now. The playlists were using older character encoding code that we've cleaned up since then.

Hey, it works! Thanks. I guess not many people use this feature, since I noticed it about two weeks ago and thought "surely SOMEONE will bring this to the attention of the proper authorities".

Sorry about that. Yeah, feel free to use the Contact form for stuff like that if you run across it in the future.

Wait, you can 'pop out' the music player? Where's that option?

Anytime you see a multi-track player on Music there's an option to open it in a new Window. For example, the Random Track Player has a link underneath to "pop-out". Click that, and you'll get the random track player in a new little Window.
