Quiz Me February 9, 2012 5:21 AM Subscribe
Remember when someone made that quiz about MetaFilter members on that website where you can make quizes? Can I get that link again? Just the main site works too since that's what I really want.
There's one on sporcle. Searching for metafilter there gives one result, but I'm pretty sure there were a couple others.

The Metafilter Facts quiz comes from this thread by Rhaomi, though looking at the 'Quiz' tag on MetaTalk there's also this quiz by goodnewsfortheinsane.

Sorry, solotoro.
And, hey, if you're really bored, Cortex once made this "who said what" game that's pretty fun, too.

Wow. Even after all this time, 35% of the test takers remember Miguel.
I did a lot worse on that than I expected. (46th %tile) But I totally didn't see or understand the "byline elements" part and didn't attempt to answer any of those. I would have gotten all of them. Still.
restless_nomad, I did remember you, which apparently few people do; and I remembered your last name but not your first. But as long as I've known taz (here and metachat), I've never known her real name. Apparently, few of us pay attention to the tag lines.

Isn't the D in DTFMA "ditch"?
I've met Vacapinta and didn't remember his name :(
But I got 86th percentile which seems weirdly high.

Huh. Use of the Professional White Website ensured that I missed every single tagline. I never noticed that difference until the quiz highlighted it.

I got 97th percentile too!
All of: subsites, mods usernames, terms, acronyms, flagging options, byline elements. Sucked at the other categories (more than half of mods real names, but otherwise, less than half for every remaining category).

Click on the "View Stats" link above the quiz to see the percentiles.
I got 73/74, 99th percentile! The only one I missed was open source advocate: Doctorow, which I won't lose any sleep over.

Here's a Metafilter Facts quiz
That is the most confusing format for a quiz I've ever seen. I spent about three minutes staring at it in confusion and trying to type in the blue boxes.
99th percentile, though, yay!
Huh. Use of the Professional White Website ensured that I missed every single tagline.
Same here, I only got I only got 'community weblog' of the the current (boring) tag lines, which I've never seen - when did they replace the funny ones?
The old ones sort of work, though - 'the plastic.com it's okay to like', 'more addictive than crack' and 'self-policing since 1999' all showed up as extra rows in the taglines section, but didn't get me any points.

98th percentile - missed a couple of the mod real names and 'notable' users (some subjectivity there, for sure).

92nd percentile. I also tanked on the taglines due to my use of the professional white background.

What the heck? I could only name 5/7 subsites and couldn't figure out how to 'move on' from that. I coulda been a contender!! (in about the 33rd percentile).

YSStOG, the MeFi wiki is pretty good for those kinds of things. In this case, see "Longboat."

Okay, I gotta brag, I got 42/74 right with one thumb on my phone while breastfeeding at 2 a.m. before I ran out of time.
Of course mostly what I do during these 2 a.m. interludes is read metafilter after I run out of news in my rss reader, so I've read a LOT of stuff I otherwise would skim in the busy daylight hours in my desperate attempts to stay awake and have, as a result, learned a lot.
