Huh? Where'd that come from? September 28, 2011 8:18 AM   Subscribe

What the heck is this? AskMe questions are showing up on this site, and the "### comments on this item" link goes straight to AskMe.

I'm really just surprised and curious, but it looks like someone is copying MetaFilter wholesale.

Nah, I pretty much leave "douchenozzle" parked in the garage when I go to other sites. More to the point, I pretty much don't bother complaining in places where I don't expect it to do any good, and grumping in the form of a submission seems like a pretty unlikely thing to work well even on a site that isn't a pile of crap.

That is, again, something that Bizzaro MetaFilter might do but the real live MeFi that is attached to real people with real home addresses would not do. Doesn't a DMCA takedown request have to come from the copyright owner, or someone authorized to act on their behalf? That seems to be the case, if the Wikipedia article is accurate. And "All posts are © their original authors." (And I'm pretty sure the simple fact of a MeFite's posting does not implicitly authorize Matt to act on that MeFite's behalf with regards to copyright infringement.)
