I remember (but can't find) an AskMe comment where someone said she had slept with her male, virginal friend "to boost his confidence" or something, but that ultimately it changed nothing and 10 years later he still hadn't slept with anyone else. Anyone remember where it was/have better search skills than me?

I actually had a friend who got laid multiple times in his early 20s by telling girls he was a virgin. Meanwhile, I actually was a virgin and when I tried it, girls just said: "Yeah, no kidding.."

Once, I let my neighbor try my pogo-stick, because he'd never tried one, and he felt like he'd missed out on part of his childhood. At first, he was awkward and fumbling, falling off numerous times, even skinning his knee. But he kept at it all afternoon, and within a couple of hours, he could stay on it for a few minutes at a time. Sometimes I think favorites are entirely random. I'll say something, and realize how stupid or uninformed it is, and then be amazed by how many favorites it is. WHY?

Interesting thread and comment, and I hope that anon OP is still around to note that I had a similar experience with my best friend, but he did go on to have relationships with other women after I left the West Coast.

Funniest part of the whole weekend was his roommate thanking me for "taking care of that" when he was driving me back to the airport.

It turns out that in re-reading the comment, I realized it wasn't as relevant as I'd thought.

I have a (lesbian) friend who is a very late-in-life virgin pondering whether to find someone to be her first without having a relationship with said person. But she seems to handle the dating/flirting thing perfectly fine. She just hasn't been out long and hasn't dated much yet and has had a few women turn her down because she has no experience.
