LIbraryThing Widget July 1, 2011 2:15 PM Subscribe
The LibraryThing widget is pulling random books from your LibraryThing account. Since Twitter and Last.fm and many of the others seem to default to most recent, it seems like the LibraryThing widget should pull your most recent books too, just to be consistent.
Here's the original request that includes some discussion about what to feature in the widget.

Neither Last.fm or LibraryThing are showing anything at all on my profile. Whats up? I was listening to last.fm today.

adamvasco, click Preferences up top and makes sure "show widget on profile" is checked next to those services.

I'm not sure what happens if you don't have any books marked as 'Currently Reading'. Maybe it does default to pulling in random books.
Yup. It does.

I just looked at the list and isn't Dopplr obsolete now since Marko's been bought out?

Dopplr is still up and running—you can go to the site and sign up. We'll remove it when/if the site shuts down.

I see them on your profile page. They're below your About section. Did you scroll all the way down?

While we're here, I just noticed that the twitter widget doesn't mark things retweeted using the actual RT button as different from a normal tweet (e.g. with the icon the actual site uses)...don't know if there's anything you can do about that.

nah, the widget is by Twitter itself. Not much we can do about that. You could always try asking Twitter Support.

Goodreads is already one of the social apps that we support. If they provide hosted widgets like these other services we can take a look and see if we can make it work with the design.

We don't currently have a "what widgets will we add" policy, so that's something we'll need to discuss. It might be as simple as: can we make it look similar to the other widgets in size and color?
