This thread has just become awesome, not just because of the insight of the commenters, but the depth of its characters. See what I did there? Thanks, Mefi.

We recently completed a $150 million dollar upgrade to the servers. I'm glad you like it.

Deciding whether to go Mars Needs Moms actually started a quasi argument in my marriage.

I went to see Battle: LA. She went to see Paul.

I won.

Your annual fee will be five times what it currently is.

I heard there was going to be an option where you keep the existing pricing, but have a limit of 1800 characters/week.

I wanted to contribute to that thread, but it would have required admitting that I saw both 'Mars Needs Moms' and 'Gnomeo and Juliet', and I just wasn't willing to make that sort of information public.

You can keep the existing pricing, but you'll get an extra 450 characters/day when you come here from google.

You mean four times. $5 * 4 = $20, same as in town.

Since there is no annual fee, I think she meant $0 * 5 = $0, same as before.

My wife asked a local theater employee where we can get/buy/steal 3D glasses and they just shrugged. It was a very french gesture — a Gallic shrug of complete indifference.

Perhaps a portion of the next $150 million budget could take this kind of thing into consideration. Or not. I actually despise 3D movies.

But I keep sending the checks to pb, right? Also, what's five times $496.39?

Metafilter should really consider simplifying the pricing structure. I'm tired of feeling ripped off just because I want to read the site on an iPad.

On a side note, Paul is named incorrectly. It should be called The Movie About Roger From American Dad.

Argh. Explain to me how this works. I have just tried it with my work 3D glasses (which are the red and blue type) and neither the thread nor YouTube 3D work - I just get more intensified blue and red shapes. Is it because I'm wearing them over my prescription lenses or is 3D on the computer slightly different?

The horror.
