How to open youtube in MeFi posts? March 12, 2011 11:20 AM   Subscribe

Where do I find the YouTube in-post code?

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I don't know how to set up the new feature that allows us to open youtube videos without going to another page. I have been tabbing out of the tsunami/earthquake thread a lot in order to watch footage. Can someone help me?

Click 'preferences' at the top of the page, check the box next to 'Inline comment updates?' and then click 'Save your preferences'. That should add a little yellow play icon next to YouTube and Vimeo links.

My Profile -> edit profile -> there's an option for "YouTube & Vimeo video inline?"; check that.

Trace your steps backwards from where you are now to when you last used them. If that doesn't work, look under the cat. Cats seem to fancy 1) hiding things from you, and 2) sleeping in uncomfortable positions.

I don't know where exactly, but I know they will be in the last place you look.

It works if you use youtube.com URLs instead of a URL shortener.
