Gathering in Venice CA

I'll be in Venice, CA, from April 25 - May 9. Without a car. Since I never managed to make it to any Toronto gatherings, perhaps I could interest my American cousins in assembling for gimlets and other cocktails.

Since I dunno jack about the area (or anything, really), it'll be up to y'all to make suggestions. I think I'm gonna be someplace between Marina Del Rey and the Penmar Golf Course if that helps narrow things down. I'm a helluva walker, too.

Venice... my favorite place... if you don't get anyone to bite on a meetup, just go down to the beach, get a table, order a beer, and watch people.... It doesn't get any better for people watching than Venice...

I'll be staying in a bed and breakfast just northeast of the Venice Community Centre near Lincoln Blvd. I found it with this site.

klang, I was sorry to hear about your accident and am glad you're healing up. Sounded brutal.

I might be able to make one. Be warned: last time we tried to go to the Library Alehouse and were told that we had to have our entire party assembled before we would be seated, which rather defeats the purpose of a meetup. As much as I endorse the Alehouse as a great bar, it's not meetup-friendly.

Yeah, echoing FoLA, let's stay the fuck away from Main St. Err, not that I have any decent suggestions in its place. Always down for the Daily Pint though!

This place is might be too small but they have a real good beer wine selection.

North up Lincoln Blvd a ways is this place. Maybe some of the other, more worldly Mefites could tell us if they have a real authentic English Pub Salsa Night.

On the corner of Rose and Main is The Firehouse.

Either one of these venues would be ideal to see the emergence of MechaKlang or Klangbot.

If the consensus is The Daily Pint, I will offer to chauffeur Mr. Dobbs to the scheduled debauch so long as it is on a Friday or Saturday evening. And if he isn't too embarrassed to be seen in the cheapest car Honda saw fit to make in 1998.
