Melbourne, VIC Meetup!

Melbourne Meetup! (no really, honest, I won't drop out on this one, there are plane tickets involved and a wife who expects me to keep social commitments). January 8th, evening-ish...somewhere (the party planning committee is still working on the details).

Bot and better half will be in Melbourne, Vic from Jan 7-10, hopefully you'll be able to meet with me (us) somewhere in Melbourne. We're staying at the Marriott in CBD. Details to follow shortly!

All are welcome (potential for follow up Sydney meetup thread to follow).

This will likely be my last trip to the great land of Oz, I'd really like to meet as many people as possible and share a beer.

damn, and i will probably be in melbs that week, only needing to jet back to see cat power in wollongong on the fri nite...

hang on, anybody up for thur 7th? cbd location (eg croft institute?) would suit me; otherwise brunswick st or lygon st...? or else there's the best pizza in town in brunswick, as recommended by pompomtom (from memory) & since verified by me :)

jeez... so I'm about to propose a melbourne meetup because we've not had one in ages, and was aiming for "first meetup organised in 2010", and then I go to MeTa, and this is the top post...

bah...

so yeah, works for me...

wilful and pompomtom seem likelies too...

thursday night is good... and city is easier than brunswick (though Curly Joe does good work)...

We won't land in Melb until 9pm on Thurs, so we'll probably be late if things line up for Thurs for the rest of the crowd.

Sweet! I'm moving back to Melbourne tomorrow so I'll probably be really stressed out with house and job hunting and in need of a beer or three. I can't promise, but I'm a very strong maybe. All nights look the same to me at the moment.

Some favourites from past meetups are The Worksop and the Order of Melbourne.

How about the Workshop? Considering most of Melbourne seems to fuck off to the beach in January, hopefully it'll be a bit less noisy that it usually is. We could sit out on the balcony thingy for fresh air, depending on weather.

Any other suggestions?

Oh, Ubu, are you still going to be around for the Friday? If you wanted to also do something the Wednesday or the Friday, I'm sure some of us could be convinced to come out twice in the one week.
