Meetup in Singapore

Meetup in Singapore in 2010? Why not!

So infini was mentioning to me over MeMail that she was back in Singapore town for a short time. I was therefore, wondering if you (yes, all three of you, you know who you are!) were interested in another Mefi meetup in the straits. My suggestion would be the weekend of Jan 8th, either 8th or 9th in a pub or tea-house of your choice.

What say, oh ye hive mind? :-)

Alright, Friday 8th it is then! Let's say 730PM somewhere in the downtown? I'm thinking:-

a) Beer: Somewhere in Clarke Quay area, Crazy Elephant or China One for preference.
b) Tea-house: Alnedra's famed tea expertise here. :-)
or c) Food-court: Maxwell might be a bit dead then, perhaps Glutton's Bay or Chinatown.

Sorry, a bit late answering this. I should be able to attend.

infini, if you can make your way to an MRT station (Chinatown, Tanjong Pagar or Outram Park would be best, otherwise anything in the centre/west such as Clementi, Dover or Commonwealth is also ok), I can pick you up around 6.45pm? I can email you my contact number and details of my car later.

Glutton's Bay is a good idea for dinner - we can adjourn to Harry's or the bar on the Esplanade rooftop terrace thereafter.

Alright, looking great people! Glutton's Bay it is then, at 730PM-ish on the 8th. hellopanda, infini and alnedra, you have my number; The Shiny Thing, just MeMail-ed you my number. [I often find just showing up to cyber-gatherings a lot more serendipitous; you can, for instance, use the Secret Mefi Handshake to greet people :-) ]

The location is already up for those who are wondering; if you've listed your location as 'Singapore' on your profile, click that big globy icon next to the word 'Singapore' to go to the exact spot. Glutton's Bay is the _{[some would say touristy :-), I would disagree]} food-court/ hawker-center next to Esplanade. Here is an alternate gothere map; has available service-numbers and such as well. (The easiest is to take the MRT to City Hall, and then walk down to Esplanade)

Harry's @ Esplanade usually has some great live gigs, should be fun on Fridays.

Alright folks, we're here at Glutton's Bay, The Shiny Thing, nihraguk and I. We'll be here for sometime; tried reaching some of you, but wasn't able to. infini and I just had some pretty good food here at glutton's bay. hellopanda is trapped in a meeting, and as I have to be up early tmw, we may leave before the others arrive. Took one picture, which is on infini's camera. Sorry, guys, if we missed you!

Hey cyndonian! I'm really sorry, but after running after exchange students all day, and making the same spiel to them for about sixteen times, I was kinda knackered. Also, infini has a good friend in town who is leaving tomorrow, so she had to run and meet up as well.

Have a drink for us! (^_^)

I guess we're gonna have to try again, then? I didn't see anyone in a MeFi t-shirt, but we were busy with the pineapple fried rice (which is really really good - thx cydonian for putting me onto it!).

I don't suppose some of you would want to try again sometime next week? I'll be in Singapore February 8th to 16th and wouldn't mind attending my first meetup in a city away from home.

I've just arrived in Singers (nobody had much advice about what bank to use) and I'll be there with bells on if there were to be another meetup soon...
