Houston Meetup?

If Amarillo and Iceland can have a meetup, surely Houston can host one? What say you, southeast Texans?

Three o'clock is great, then realistically people will get there at four. Apparently from the other meetup threads two or three things are required for a successful meetup:

a) A sign, so people don't have to go around asking, "Are you a friend of Matt H?" like they're looking for an AA meeting
b) a camera, to post photos of how fantastically hip the event was
c) Matt Haughie or some reasonable impersonation.

I can supply the sign but the other two are up to the rest of you. You're resourceful, you made it through Ike in one piece, surely you can convince #1 or one of his infamous minions to come down to the big H?

It was awesome to meet everyone, and I had a lot of fun - sorry I had to cut and run; turns out there was a minor emergency to take care of but all is well now. We should DEFINITELY do this again sometime!

I had tremendous fun meeting pomegranate, mrbill, kelliebob, dog food sugar, robotrex, and casarkos! We are all bright intelligent funny and vivacious people! AND we're all Texans so nyah nyah nyah!

I was the one taking the pictures, will post them soon. When I got home yesterday I discovered half the power in my house was out. Electric company is fixing that now and when I get my puter back I'll put up the pics.

DINNER NEXT. Like I said, Houston does good food :-)

Wolfdaddy I find it hilarious that your power was out after all that talk we did about the dependability of mid-60's ranch style homes. It's kinda perfect. You are even more of a rock star in real life than you are on metafilter, even at only 1/2 power.
