When I preview my inchoate FPP, the link search informs me that my links were found in three previous threads, but only sometimes.
When those links are in the "description" box, the link search finds them in previous threads, but when I move some of my text (without altering it) to the "extended description" box, my next preview tells me that my URLs were not found in previous threads.
Unrelated: there is a "Link Preview," but no "Reception Preview." Please create a utility that tells me whether or not people will like my post. Thanks!

This sounds like a job for greasemonkey pb. Guess we're just not checking all the links, yeah.

I use this. It's not an official mefi tool, but I find it to be at least as accurate as any other mechanical evaluation method.

This tool is as effective as any other in determining whether someone will like your post. You can rest assured however, that cortex will always like it because he's upbeat like that.

+1 for inchoate. I'd have used nascent, but that's just me.

Thanks, guys! The 8-ball confirmed my suspicions, and my nascent post has been aborted. ;)

I asked the Magic 8ball if MetaFilter would grow past 100, 000 this year. The answer was definitely. Another day like 11-18-04?

As long as you don't ay 'twat', apparently.
As long as you don't start a big derail in a touchy thread by displaying your insensitivity to gendered insults and the differences in how they're received in the UK and the US, yeah.

Does this mean the magic 8-ball is an unoffical Mefi admin tool?

I dropped the 8-ball and now I have blue fluid leaking onto my desk, but no white or yellow digits or letters. Did I just break my MetaFilter, or some other site? It tastes like burning.
