Using the stumped tag in askme July 1, 2008 4:30 PM Subscribe
Since promoting the resolved tag worked so well, how about promoting the stumped tag?

Actually, that's a great idea. Might as well add it to the Unanswered tab.
It sounds like a cool feature, a lot like standard forums and their stupid "bump" messages to put old stuff at the top that still needs answers. Plus with tagging resolved, you can only "bump" to the top once, so it's not like people could game the listings and always be at the top.

I've started a guerrilla marketing campaign in boston for you by placing little LED tree stumps under bridges. I'd say give it 4-5 hours before tagging commences.

If you adopt it, they will come.

Ok, we just added it, complete with a RSS feed for recently stumped questions.
yay, the system works!

Now, how 'bout a tab showing all the AskMes with multiple answers identical to the Best Answer? People seem to love those.

Neato! But it won't help my stumpy baby. Seven months I've been checking on the poor sod.

Maybe even the 'I tried your suggestion and now I'm dead, you bastard!' tag.

I'd like to see two more tags:
"Ate it and lived"
"Ate it and died"
Of course, the latter would require outside intervention - or some really good coding.

No "Ate it and it cured my sore throat/leukemia/venereal disease/schizophrenia"?

What is the difference between "stumped" and "unresolved"?

And some people may have previously used stumped to mean "I'm asking a question I don't know the answer to."

Q: What do you call it when the postal clerk doesn't know how much to charge you?

OK, I'm being dense, am sure. Does this mean I should re-tag my questions(s) with "stumped" or "unresolved" if I didn't get a correct (and/or complete) answer to what I was looking for?

Can we also add a "dumped" tag for all the fucked-up relationshipfilter q's? It would do us the double-plus-good of alerting the Hive to newly single members and spark "yay, let's get you drunk now" meetups...
