Inverted Sine Beta Sleep Waves. June 20, 2008 1:57 PM Subscribe
Can anyone help me find the post where someone talks about a watch or clock that helps you wake up refreshed based on your wave cycles?
It was recent, but I can't find it anywhere. As I remember, someone said "Someone should invent that!" and then someone else said "someone already has!" and the "has" was a link. Anyone? Bueller?

It's called the Sleeptracker watch. It's pretty good. I've had it for about a year. OTOH, I have a buddy who has sleep problems, and he hates it.

Out of curiosity, filmgeek, why doesn't your buddy like it?

He doesn't like it...because he's difficult. He's a bit manic all the time to begin with...I'm sure he didn't commit to it...he's poorly rested, can't sleep....so it probably was a bad choice for him.

My friend/editor Andru wrote that original review from GL. He liked the watch quite a bit and was surprised with how well it worked for him.

Now the question is, how deep of a sleeper are these people who've tried it and loved it? 'Cause my current set up involves five very obnoxiously loud cell phone alarms spaced at 5 minutes apart, and I still have days where I don't wake up. And this is with a minimum of 6-7 hours of sleep here.

I wake when the sun creeps through. It's like my body has a knowledge entirely on its own. I have blacked out windows, pillows on my face, etc. Sun comes up, I'm up. That means that in the summer, I'm generally awake by 6am, pretty much regardless.

But...that's the future though! Everything is more exciting in the future.
