Hey Guys, last week i posted this askMe:

There is absolutely nothing.

Scroll down. The poster of the Hey Guys question has put a huge long link in his post which has borked the way everything looks. It'll get fixed once those lazy-ass Americans get out of bed.

To elaborate, the page is done loading, but it seems as if whomever posted the second to last AskMe post (the "Hey Guys, last week I posted this askMe:") added a bit of code that has kerplunkt the site for me- Mac OS X 10.4 Safari.

essexjan has filled it all in. The scroll bar was less-than-apparent in this tiny resolution on the roomate's laptop- thanks.

I'm a lazy-ass American, and I posted a response to the borked question telling the poster to contact the admins. So far, he hasn't shown any signs of checking back, other than his initial "sorry about the formatting"... But the rest of the page shows up okay for me using IE.

After a few more questions get posted, it will get pushed down past the sidebar and not be quite as disruptive.

I'm thinking this could just be well-hung performance art.

Can we just get a greasemonkey script to fix it instead?

AskMe just needs better picture rails.

It looks fine to me, here in America.

That's defamatory, essexjan. America has some of the most hard-working asses in the free world.

So in Australia, does the scroll bar scroll in the other direction?
posted by Toekneesan at 5:40 AM on May 10, 2008

It should be fixed now.

I like that xkcd comic where he moves the hyphen one word to the right when someone combines an adjective with "ass." So essexjan's comment would be about lazy ass-Americans.

white, hard-working American asses
There you go, playing the race card, you sir, have lost your bearings.
posted by iamabot at 9:22 AM on May 10, 2008

Why did cortex say that? Is that some insider joke, or is he genuinely racist?
posted by markovich at 9:28 AM on May 10, 2008

I suspect cortex has been watching too much cable news.
posted by iamabot at 9:33 AM on May 10, 2008

The proper follow up to my comment is "‘I just want to report that this morning I personally checked cortex's bearings. He has not lost any of them. They are all in really great shape."

No doubt it does, but those of us in Europe and all points east had to endure the horror of that front page for hours until one of the lazy-ass mods dragged himself out of bed.

Can you imagine how this has ruined the weekend of non-American-based MeFites? Well? Can you? What I want to know is who is going to pay for my counselling??!!

Now Hillary is ALSO saying this type of stuff! What has happened today!?

He's just generally racist. You're not terminally stupid or anything though.

Now, I'll not stand for one word against Paul Weller! Besides, I'm the one who would have to be dragged out of his bed.

My ass is not lazy but some mornings there are better things to do than get out of bed. I am genuinely sorry to my comrades in the UK and elsewhere who had to endure broken HTML.

Kind of like how you hope and wish that your baby would just sleep all night so you can get some fucking rest for god's sake and then, when it happens and you wake up at 7am and realise that you've slept for more than two hours for the first time in a year and you damn near have a fucking heart attack worrying that the baby is not sleeping, but must surely be dead, so the stress created negates the effect of the sleep?

Perhaps not ...
