I often head over to MeTa, expecting some fresh craziness to entertain me on sleepless nights, only to find nothing new there, or, worst of all, something actually useful. I'm right with you, disillusioned.

Last year, y2karl reminisced about scrolling through the lofi version of the front page, and noted that he had a whole month of posts there. I had only seven days and wanted more, more, but alas, it was not to be. quonsar disabused me of my poor dream.

Yeah, no, we have it short for a reason. I don't want two-week old drama to keep going and going forever.

I just went over to the meetup archives to see if there were any shenanigans to join in and was disappointed to find there weren't.
I did notice though that the latest thread to close [Aug 16: Santiago, Chile] has "This thread is over 30 days old, and has been closed for archival purposes." I know this is technically true but shouldn't it be saying '180 days'?

Not that I'm suggesting any changes, but isn't this reason pretty much disemboweled by the "Recent Activity" link, and that a metatalk argument can and does go on forever so long as people keep replying, and it bubbles up in that queue?

Probably reduces the number of flareups, at least.

Well, in the southern hemisphere at least, 180 is more than 30, so it is, technically, over 30 days old. Now, if it said something like "This thread has been closed for archival purposes as it is over 30 days old", you might have a case.
