Didja know Metafilter's own hermitosis has been writing articles for AMC's website (mostly in the MonsterFest blog)? Hey check it out, it's ColdChef! (With awesome photo)
Some other recent gems (though not so Metafilter related) - hermitosis asks Bruce LaBruce "Exactly how gay IS this zombie movie?" Answer: "It's pretty gay."
Plus, a tender examination of Selma Hayek's facial hair.

If I squint my eyes, it looks like Coldchef's wearing a very small tie...

I think I would like Coldchef to undertake me, when the time comes. Do you do outcalls?

That should be ColdChef's profile picture. Heck, I would support mathowie letting that photo appear beside every post ColdChef makes. Maybe with a cute little word balloon coming away from it.

That's really cool, hermi.. but couldn't you do better than Bruce LaBruce? He's such a pretentious git it makes my teeth hurt. Christ, even Sky Gilbert is less annoying.

The Chef is looking sharp, but this is the shot that should be laser-etched into his tombstone.

Thanks for posting this nanojath! I was unsure if posting the ColdChef piece myself would be okay.
It's too bad they didn't use all of his answers; the piece was trimmed down considerably in the end. But that's how these things work, I guess. Originally I linked to his photoset of memorials, too. I'll be lucky if the rest of my interviewees are anywhere near as helpful and interesting as ColdChef.
...but couldn't you do better than Bruce LaBruce?
Hey, I just go where the zombies are :)

Congratulations hermitosis (I am an AMC addict!), and smart move interviewing the handsome and suave and always fascinating ColdChef. If anyone reading this hasn't heard the Mefi podcast that featured him stop whatever you're doing and just listen. In my experience it and a light box and a little daily exercise are a fail-safe remedy for seasonal affect disorder.

Don't be fooled. He's shifty, that ColdChef. he mailed me narcotics paraphenalia once.

This is so many layers of awesome. Bonus awesomeness if you've heard the podcast interview with CC and can read his answers in his fantastic accent.

I felt that way about the MeFi podcast. Luckily I was wrong.

Dang it, I always get left off the narcotics paraphernalia list. I bet you guys all went to the planetarium without me, too. I love the planetarium and narcotics too you know. Stop bruising my feelings.

That's not the only ColdChef interview on the web. This one, by Cowboy Sally, lacks the great photo, but is sexier - including my favorite quote:
"The joke around our house is that the men can do our wives' hair and makeup for them, but only if they lie down and close their eyes."

From tizzie's link:
... a friend who works as an undertaker-cum-"catch-all" at his family's funeral home.
Man, undertaking is a way different job than I always thought.

Thanks again, hermitosis! A few years back I was interviewed by TCM about the original version of "The Long Hot Summer."
Remember, if you work for a cable movie channel and you need bland and non-offensive opinions, I'm always available and my rates are reasonable.
