Anime and Curry

This Saturday: New York Anime Festival and then lunch at Go! Go! Curry?

Anyone interested in meeting up at the NY Anime Festival and/or meeting up for lunch at Go Go Curry? Go Go Curry alone should make you want to come. Unless you are vegetarian. Unless rice and japanese pickles sound tasty to you! Come on, Japanophiles! Ikimashou!

I was thinking Go Go Curry around 1 or 2 but if people are loosey goosey, maybe we can make it 12noon.

IndigoRain, not exactly anime, but there's this Final Fantasy concert with Nobuo Uematsu in March 2008 in Chicago. Chicago has stuff!

I was thinking about attending .... but I have a severe allergic reaction to the band HappyFunSmile ..... and Jacob Javits gives me shingles.

Actually I'm sorry to miss it, but I have a date to help a friend move and then it is visiting time with my one-week old neice.

Don't be ridiculous IndigoRain! You can always go to Anime Central in Chicago! And there's several smaller ones too (spoken as former Chicago-area person who had to go to one that wasn't Acen for a j-school assignment).

Hell, I'll go just for the Go! Go! Curry! I'm tempted to attend Saturday because there's nothing like people gawkin' at an anime convention ("festival", whatever...), but I'm very on the fence about it. I'll use the rest of Friday to figure that bit out.

Thanks guys! Someone PM'd me a couple of nearby conventions. I've been an anime fan for years but never gone to one, and I'm becoming more and more a fan of Japan in general, including all the history and culture.

I ended up going on Sunday with a friend... I wish I had known about this earlier, as I usually schedule my manga purchases around conventions... Did end up buying quite a lot of stuff anyway, though.
