Pony/suggestion - beef the Jobs subsection up with more job-related resources.

I have a serious interview this week, and my immediate reaction was to start scouring AskMe for past questions about job interviews to see if I could glean any good tips. So far I've found a wealth of knowledge that has been very helpful, and more importantly, original. The quality of the answers and suggestions for interviewing are way better than the usual crappy "5 things to eat for breakfast on interview day!" posts on sites like Monster.

I think it would be awesome if somehow this AskMe content (and maybe some job-related posts from the blue) could be incorporated into the Jobs subsection as a way to make it more of a job-seekers' resource, beyond the job posts themselves (none of which I would qualify for or, frankly, even understand). It's my understanding that with the Travel section, questions can be cross-posted from AskMe to the subsection. Any way to incorporate such a capability into Jobs?

That sounds good, can you post the links here?

I could add a little sidebar section to the front of the jobs page for job-seekers with links to all the good questions.

Some kind of functionality for job-seekers would be a very welcome addition, too, I'd venture. Dear lordy, if I could get a good job back across the water somewhere, how quickly I'd leave behind a chicken-scented cloud of dust here in the land of the morning smog, probably.

I agree, I would like to see much more going on at the job board in general. It has not attained critical mass yet.

I'm opposed to this idea, as it may result in more people finding more jobs, and thereby improving their job satisfaction. Job satisfaction leads to lower levels of personal internet usage, resulting in a lower quantity and quality of posts to the various front-pages. It's the end of MeFi as we know it!

Proposed solution: post more well paying, but lousy jobs that offer a lot of unsupervised computer time.
