It's not that I have anything against Squid Voltaire... October 17, 2007 6:29 PM   Subscribe

Is there some way to have the option of excluding Mefi users' pages from search results?

While trying to search for "Voltaire", I get page after page of user pages from Squid Voltaire- activity from, tagged with x by, favorited by, and so forth. I've noticed this with other searches, where I end up wading through page after page of "Oh hi I found this term in somebody's recent comments page" and the like. Would there be any way to only search actual posts to MeFi/AskMeFi/etc?

just add a couple more minuses in there to get rid of the other stuff you don't want.

and adding -"posted by Squid Voltaire" to that string will help, too.

and adding -"posted by Squid Voltaire" to that string will help, too.

But may knock out relevant results, especially if SV has made eponysterical comments.

Since post titles are in the URL, that may block a few extra posts.
