London Calling/Calling London. Perchance a meetup? I'm visiting next week and would love to meet and greet and talk and talk and talk.
A friend invited me to share her fancy-pants hotel, and I found an absurdly cheap ticket on Kuwait Air (so cheap, in fact, that I'm not completely confident that there will be a plane when I show up at the airport). It's reckless and perhaps ill-advised, but I'm beside myself with excitement.
I'll be there from Weds. the 23rd through Saturday afternoon the 27th. Having never been, I'm afraid I have no clever ideas for meeting places. I do know that I'm staying near the Victoria and Albert Museum, but as someone who still adores the New York subway after five years, I think I'm going to like the Underground and will gladly travel on it. Also, thanks to my government's most definitely reckless and ill-advised foreign and economic policy, the once-mighty dollar is flacid and feeble, so somewhere that doesn't specialize in 20 Euro lychee martinis would probably be good.
If you're there, and if you'd like to. Only if.

I'm flying in to London for my graduation ceremony and will be there between the 23rd and the 28th. Any day in that range except for the 24th (graduation, yay!) would be great for me.
I wouldn't worry about the lychee martinis, London meetups are usually in pubs.

I'm away that weekend, but would be very much up for either the Wednesday or (slightly more tentatively) the Friday.
And I've flown the Lon-NY route with Kuwait Air before. Oh, what joys await you!

I should be around although if this cold I've got gets any worse I demand the meetup is held around by hospital bed.

If you're staying in South Kensington there will likely be plenty of opportunities for the odd Lychee Martini.

There are also some non-Lychee martini places not far away.
If you're into pubs, (oddly, pubs with good Mexican food,) the Crown and Sceptre is not far away.*
* note: that spur of the District line to Olympia is about as frequent as a lunar eclipse.

Egads! Premature MetaTalkation. I just heard from the friend who is putting me up at her hoity-toity conference hotel that she'd already made evening plans for us during my stay, and in order to be a gracious freeloader I need to attend. Please forgive my premature enthusiasm. But also don't let it stop you from meeting up sans me.
Next time, next time, when I'm paying my own way.

..........well, the thought of meeting the brilliantly erudite and hilariously funny atrazine again is certainly tempting but a flight back from Malta would cost more than I have right now.
(Sorry, Atrazine! and congrats! have a great time at your graduation)

Is this going ahead?
The 25th is dodgy for me, but the 26th is fine.
