October Philly Meetup? The previous thread got all old and crusty. Let's try again. Let's make this happen.

I've never been to a MeFi meetup but have longed to attend. When/where are you thinking?

Would pre-halloween work for people? Evening of Fri 26th or Sat 27th?

Or would the first weekend in November work better?

As the derelict initiator of the last thread, I would be gung-ho for the weekend of the 26th-27th. I'm still unsure of a location, though.

I'm not the one to ask, being a nondrinker who has no ideas regarding these "bars" and such. Someone else, say a place, and we'll go with it.

I'm going to be in Philadelphia that weekend, but I may be too obligated to visiting family to go. Regardless, I'm suggesting Eulogy Belgian Tavern at Second and Chestnut. Because it's great.

Eulogy looks great. I'm an at-home mom so pretty much any night is fine with me, although after the first weekend in November I'll be away weekends until Thanksgiving judging high school speech tournaments. Maybe the first week(end) in November will work better for people?

Eulogy might be packed. We also stopped by there after a previous meetup. And Nodding Head was the site of the last meetup. (Maybe no-one else cares about repeat venues?)

If we want to keep to the Belgian theme but go someplace different, we could go to Zot at Front and Lombard. Or a not-specifically-Belgian-yet-beerworthy joint like Fergie's or Good Dog (there's a pool table on the 3rd floor!) or Cherry Street or Royal or N. 3rd or Standard Tap or Grace...

There's also the Belgium Cafe (aka Monks II) which is up at 21st and Green (one block above Spring Garden, in the old Tavern on Green location). It just opened up a couple of months ago, but it's already packed, so maybe not.
We could try the Carriage House on 13th and Arch. It's a very new place which no one seems to have found yet. It's bar is very conducive to meetups.

26th or 27th is OK by me. Of the places listed so far I prefer Fergie's or Standard Tap but I'll go along with any of the others.

Ooh I've never been to Standard Tap.

I've never even been to a meetup. If the crowd says Eulogy, that's fine, I've just been there a few times where elbow room was at a premium.
