EJ in NYC

Yes, another NYC meetup.

I'm going to be in NYC from 18-28 October. On my last visit in June, the meetup was on the day I got there, so I was barely coherent from jetlag (whaddya mean, nobody noticed?!).

I know I'll be catching up with my NYC MeFi friends during the visit, but hope there'll also be a meetup too. I was thinking about Friday, October 26th. How does that sound?

I'll leave my Social Secretary, The Pink Superhero, to find a suitable venue but please chip in with suggestions.

That would be wonderful, considering my gf's birthday is the preceding weekend and she'd hardly enjoy hearing I was riding down to NYC to meet a lovely girl from England instead.

I'd like to vote for a place where dancing is possible, since I owe EJ one.

Bad news From Yelp:

does anyone know if this sweet bar (bouche bar at 540 e 5th st) in the east village is still alive and kicking? i'm just worried bc every number i've tried to call has been disconnected / out of service...

Yes, the Bouche Bar does seem to be closed.

How about Revival? It's a 'known quantity', I know how to get there, and it's a big-ish venue, from what I recall, so it shouldn't be too crowded.

The back room at Art Bar is comfortable and nice. Then again, it would be on a Friday night. And their nachos are awesome.

Art Bar is cramped and too dark. I am not crazy about that establishment at all.

Revival would work very well for me.
