Meetup Eire?

Given the fantastic quality of responses I got on AskMe recently, how about a Dublin Meetup?

I'll be moving to Dub in two weeks, so sometime in late September would suit me well... say the 21st or 22nd? I feel reluctant to name the place, because I can only remember the name of one or two bars from last time I visited. Any suggestions? Attendees?

IIRC MetaFilter meetups are still illegal in Ireland? I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, but just be careful.

May I suggest The Stag's Head, just off Dame St. I won't be there, but raise a glass of the black stuff and have a toasted cheese sandwich in my honour.

While TwoWordReview moves west across the Atlantic, I'm moving east across the Irish Sea. I'm afraid I'll be in England from the 20th September.

Unfortunate, but possibly beneficial to my liver.

Same here, i'll be in Ireland, but on the west coast of county clare at a wedding. (dreading the drive). Maybe some other dates might suit?

Soo would we be three-strong if it was a mid-week, mid evening thing, say...September 19th, 8pm?

Heh, 19th would be pushing it for me. I need to pack after all!

and Dublin's a 2hr drive from where I live. There's always next time!

(and Conch Soup, seriously, whenever the weather's suitable, get yourself down to the Skelligs!)

Ok, looks like a no-go. Maybe we can try again around Halloween. Perhaps a West-Coast meetup, too if there are more folks out that way. Either way, I'll be up for a Dublin meetup if anyone proposes one in the upcoming months.

Just back from me holliers! I wouldn't have been able to make the 22nd either (driving to Cork, yikes!).... but am up for a Dublin meetup - maybe in October sometime?
