LA Meetup photos:
Only four turned out for me (I do have a fair number of drunkish blurred shots of my feet). I hear that there were more, and even voice recordings.
If you've got the missing photos, please post inside!
I think the recordings are of The_Bone singing something from Oklahoma.
But we could still do the video...

And let the media frenzy commence.
My photos are on flickr, although they can scarcely be called mine, as dashiv took most of them.
Video is on youtube. Yes, yes, I know they're sideways. How do I rotate video files on a crap PC?
I also have audio-only files but I'm not sure of a good place to host them. Suggestions?

Heh! The lamb cake is an annual tradition at my parents' house.
The tradition is for the oldest child to ice it while the younger sibs clamor for a turn, then finally the oldest child figures out that icing it means that their hands hurt for a week and graciously steps aside until the younger ones smarten up.
I, apparently, never learn.

My apologies to all the lovely ladies at the meetup -- I will do each one of you photographic justice next time.

Speaking of traditions: as per jonson's rule in the previous MeTa thread, during this meetup I had established the precedent that lurkers are required to buy the oldest member a drink at all MeFi meetups, or the newest member buys if there are no lurkers. The motion was seconded by klangklangston and is now a part of the official MeFi Meetup Bylaws. Sorry, n00bs. Pay your $5 now or pay it with booze.
You crazy, fool. Ladies lookin' fine!
There's a considerable difference between "lookin' fine" and "DaShivified" (TM).

The preferred term is "given a DaShivisection".

The only picture of me emphasized my gut.
We should do this again, then.

I think we need to invite Art if we do it again. It won't be the same without his ginormous vibrato.

There's a bar right by my house on like 11th and Wilshire in SM called JP's. They have trivia on tuesday nights. It's ridiculously fun, and you know team metafilter would clean house.

Depending upon how soon this happens, I could probably make it. I'm in the magical land of pine trees, sand dunes, cherry orchards and vast quantities of midwest tourists until the 17th.

I imagine the common phrase would be "Hi, I'm on Metafilter and I could overthink a plate of beans."
