It depends. How did he judge the size of BoingBoing? Number of contributors? Number of unique daily readers? As I pointed out in the other thread MetaFilter has only about half the reach of BoingBoing, according to Alexa.

Well, it was a combination of not wanting to ruin the map with too many details, and yeah, I don't use Music or Projects enough to add any injokes (although I do drop in from time to time when I'm bored - in general though I have quite specific musical tastes).
