Toronto MeFites, how do you feel about bowling?

Melinika needs an excuse to come to Toronto, and it's been awhile since the last MeFi meetup, so we figured why not. We'd like to try something that's a little more than just sitting around in a bar drinking, but which still encompasses a great deal of sitting around drinking (vital such as those are to the meetup experience) so how about bowling?

We're aiming for Saturday April 21st. Bowling alternatives include:

Danforth Bowl Pros: Across the street from a subway station. Possible Cons: 5 pin only. And while 5 pin is very Canadian, one imagines The Dude would not approve. Terrible web design. Possible lack of parking.

Bowlerama either Bowlerama West in Etobicoke or Newtonbrook in North York. Pros: 5 and 10 pin lanes available. Free parking. Possible cons: About 1/2 km walk from either Kipling or Finch subway stations. Which are pretty end of line subway stations as subway stations go.

PlayTime Pros: Apparently the best bowling center in Toronto, though what makes it thus, I have no idea. All 10 pin. Cons: A bus ride away from the nearest subway station.

Hey, I dig the 5 pin. If I'm going to be crappy at bowling, at least I have the excuse that it's foreign bowling.

Not to mention I get more points in 5 pin. (Yes, because there's more to get, heh.)

Hey, I live a couple of minutes from the 5 pin place (and so does one other member I met at a prior meetup, but I can't remember his username). So I will do my best if you pick there.

I have been to birthday parties (well, kids' parties) at both Danforth and Bowlerama West. Danforth has a funky vibe, as it's tiny. 6 5-pin lanes tiny. THe picture doesn't do justice to how small it is. But funky. And it is, indeed, the only subway accessible bowling alley in town. Street parking in the area is not too hard - it's not really a very busy party of the Danforth.

Bowlerama West does have the blacklight/disco bowling thing going on though.

But I'm game for either one.

Because I'd have to have deliberately added it to the sidebar--which I gather we're only supposed to do once we have a pretty concrete date. And since it looks like response for that date is nearly split between I'd try to come and I can't possibly make it, I haven't added it, in case we have to change the date.
