AJAXy goodness best thing since sliced bread January 18, 2007 2:37 PM Subscribe
So it's been a few weeks. May we please have AJAXy goodness applied to favorites across the *.metafilter.com sites?
We are in the process right now. pb's almost done with ask mefi's favorites system.
Also, we fixed the old savedfavorites problem where sometimes stuff would not show up on your page.

This was just a ploy to earn lots of favorites.

You have to do it from your Favorites page.

Speaking of the Favorites page, how come I can see how many other people favorited (god there's no getting around that damn verb) my favorite threads, but not who all else liked my favorite comments? And, along the lines of nj_subgenius' comment, will removing favorites be re-coded too?

Just noticed it on AskMeta, and ran over here to say: YAAAAY!

Why though? Don't you usually access your favorites (once favorited) from the Favorites page? Where you can then easily de-favorite them?

Good point ClarissaWAM, and it's not as if your favorites page is like the rest of the site, where the AJAX is really needed.

The unfavoriting on your favorites page will eventually be ajaxy as well.

Yeah, but then I go to the page where the favorite to see it's worth keeping when doing pruning.

I just discovered that now you can favorite a song in MetaFilter Music while it's playing without stopping it. Little detail, I know, but makes a huge difference. Thx to the powers that be.
