Meetup before Christmas in Auckland, NZ

Is there time before Christmas for an Auckland (NZ) MeFi meetup? Or is everyone too far into end of year festivities and already booked up? I have some free evenings here and there and would love to get together before going camping. [more inside]

Walking round town in today's wonderful sunny weather put me in a festive mood and who better to share such things with than the local Mefites. So who's up for an Auckland meetup? Weekends are getting busy with Christmas coming, but I quite like some quiet midweek drinks afterwork. There are plenty of places downtown/centralish we could try and I've had good results at either the Shakespear Tavern or Galbraiths. Alternatively I'm open to ideas. Whaddaya think?

Oh, and by 'open to ideas' I mean not just other pubs but also other event types or timings. All suggestions welcome.

Yeah, I'll come to something if I can. Not full of brilliant ideas as yet though :)
