Does anyone know if there's a way to take the album cover art posted on meficomp.com, and have it appear in iTunes as album cover artwork? You know, in that cool new view in iTunes 7, where you can scroll through all your albums as if you're looking at them physically on a rack?

Yes, to all involved: thanks for putting so much blood, sweat and other bodily fluids into the CD. It is an amazing album, and the design was nominated "vice president of adoreable" by hermitosis. I have to second that nomination.

By my calculations cortex owes me (and the other early investors) $0.16 in accrued interest since my initial investment in MeFi Comp and I'm not joining in the festivities until he pays up.

Actually, I re-invested all the earned interest into 2/5ths of a hooker and seventeen micrograms of blow, which was necessary for morale-management on account of all the constant whinging from somebody named "public".

Perhaps you could go to a Mockingbird Foundation program and force some weeping child to play the opening bars to "Smoke on the Water" over and over in trade.
Seriously, thanks for all the kind words from everyone so far. I've loved getting to hear all the songs from the other contributors and turtlegirl, cortex, and interrobang did truly exemplary (and really, really hard work) pulling it all together. I hope we raise a buttload of cash for the kiddies.

I'm actually running a little low on bodily fluids now. Anybody got some to spare?

The CD is fantastic and I'd like to add that everyone who was sporting eyewear had fabulous frames and made me jealous since I have lame-tastic frames on the glasses that I don't wear as much as I should be wearing...and I feel weird that I just admitted to scoping out people's glasses.

What a fun evening. I took the cd home and played it immediately. As almost every new track that came on, my roommate popped in to say, "This is good," sounding less and less surprised each time. I hope it makes a million dollars.
Piratebowling, not only do I stand by my declaration that the cd is the Vice President of Adorable, if for some reason I am ever unable to fulfill my duties, it will take the presidency in my stead.

Was there any panty throwing? Now that we're all rock stars, I mean. I was promised there'd be panty throwing.

I broke a glass by accident. So, uh, technically, we wrecked the joint. Or as DeVito would say, we made sure the place was utilized.

bingo - I think you can use iArt to import the album cover, but I don't use itunes so this is secondhand information. If not that, then definitely some other way exists.

I uploaded the song title and author info to the Gracenote database. So, iTunes users, if you insert the CD, you should have the song info already available. Let me know if it doesn't work.

Now that I've had time to listen to the CD a couple of times, I just want to say that I concur with everyone else; it's great. I would have been happy if it had been just mediocre, really, but it's actually good, which is nice. Congrats to everyone involved.

I'm currently stuck in the midwest with the westcoast blooze again, so I'm sorry I couldn't join the festivities in NYC. Thanks to everyone for their kind words and especially to cortex, interrobang, the other artistes, and everyone involved. If you dig the LISBOA track on the comp (track #2), I've posted a few other LISBOA tunes over at music.metafilter.com over the last week or so; please help yourselves.
With luck, the comp sells a million copies so the Mockingbird Foundation can train the next generation of creative kids to not suck as much as I do. The other folks on the disc are, of course, unsuckily awesome. Did I mention the comps make great stalking stuffers?
Metafilter: Is that freedotcom rock? Turn it up!

thanks to Artifice_Eternity for organizing and letting me spin tracks from the comp along with some other fun rock music. There are a number of great tunes on the compilation, including, well, most of them.
And I see from the cover art that I managed to completely miss submitting anything for the cover art. I guess that's a good amount of mystery. Or something.

I'm not saying that I wasn't alerted about submitting a picture and info for the cover, but that I simply managed to forget to actually do it. There's no one to blame but myself. Go me!
