I am an absolutely terrible person for names, and I unfortunately missed some, but, wow, what a bunch of neat people. Excellent turnout, and I have already forgotten who all was there, but, jeez, EVERYONE was awesome. Let the shoutouts begin!

(especial praise to ClaudiaCenter, the organizer, and to our very own Johny Appleseed of comic books, who gave everyone gifts!)

Our visitor from another coast, and the inspiration for said meet up was of course in attendance -- cyrusdogstar and his beeyootiful fiance (I remember her "real" name but not her screen name). Who else? JDC8 ...

Apparently, MeFites "aren't people," are inherently violent, and their HIV rates (not to mention their penis measurements) are highly exaggerated. Why do we keep coming back for metafilter badness?

Yes, I have to admit that I was surprised at DaShiv taking attendance, and the nametags--we're not so organized on the right-hand coast! Makes sense though, he must've taken a good few dozen pictures at least, can't wait to see them.

ikkyu2 was also there, and and trevyn is Tallest MeFite Ever's screen name.

I had a lovely time; y'all turned a crappy crappy day into fun.

And I have to say, I've never felt so SAFE at a meet-up. For half the night I was surrounded by a doctor, a paramedic, and a human rights lawyer. The emergency back-up was RIGHT THERE. It was awesome.
