Mefi-CBC Radio crossover October 31, 2006 3:01 AM Subscribe
I have noticed lately that the topics of many of the FPP's that I read on Metafilter end up being features on CBC Radio a day or two later. Just wondering if we had a member using MeFi as a tool for providing content for their radio show on a regular basis. Is it you Sook-Yin?
Just relax. It'll hurt less. Now turn your head and cough.

You might want to use some lube next time. It makes it easier for the both of us.

Hmm, I've noticed this with the free Metro dead-tree newspaper we get on London transport.

Well, if those places suddenly feature jodi.org, then we'll know.

Love your username, regardless. I don't think Gibson has written anything more compelling that his ode to piratical procrastination, All Tomorrow, Sparties.

I can hardly wait until Rick Mercer comes in and then flames out. Oh, the humanity.

Is Ceiling Cat just a metafilter thing? 'Cause I saw him on some other forum site and became angry and confused.

And finally, from Paul Di Filippo:Show: As It Happens
"Husband, transgenic mistress; wife: 'You cow!'"
How satisfying -- unlike an all-you-can-eat buffet, to treasure quality over quantity. And here at "As It Happens", we have always valued quality. So help us out: put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard. Just 6 little words is all that's required; nay, all that's permitted. And it doesn't have to be sci-fi. Any genre will do. Try your hand at the 6-word story, then call Talkback with your best, very short work. The number is 416-205-3331. Or send us an e-mail. Our address is: aih@cbc.ca.

Heh, I just pitched a piece arguing that jodi et al midwifed net art, then strangled the baby with it's own umbilical cord, so to speak. Editor seemed confused, afraid.

Sorry, cortex, but I think the username actually references Halberstam's account of the failed 1690 mutiny attempt on famous pirate Thomas Tew's ship, All Tom Or Row, Sparties.
