Confirmation post of favorites?

I would love a confirmation request when you add a favorite post. I've had favorites appear that I don't even remember clicking even if I probably did by accident.

I would hate it too. is it really that troubling to have to click "remove" when you're browsing your favorites and find one you don't remember clicking?

If everything people wanted set as a preference was on the preferences page, there would be 400 checkboxes.

What we really need is a MetaPreferences page to choose which options you want to show up on the preferences page. And then a Greasemonkey script to control the MetaPreferences page.

Preferences should be specified as a bitmap. If you can't say it in binary, you deserve the defaults.

I think we should compromise. Pick one of those "we should have an option for it on our preferences page" requests. Just one. Then make 400 checkboxes just for that option.

What we need is a checkbox on the user page. If a user wants 400 checkboxes, she checks it on, while the rest of us remain blissfully unaware of the multitude of anal-rententive, hand-holding, protect-me-from-the-big-scary-website choices we could be making.

Any and all checkboxes should be reverse-logic based.

The 400 checkboxes on the preferences pages should be done in Flash because everyone here loves Flash. Or perhaps via a special "preference page browser" download that won't work in Macs or Linux. Since I use a Mac, I could post a Metatalk every day asking when you'll make a Mac client available.

The reason I use favorites instead of flagging for the good stuff I see is that it's only one click. (I'd love it if flags were reduced to a good/bad that only took one click to execute. Breaking the guidelines, noise, offense and derailment are all 'breaking the guidelines' on some level, and don't need to be confusingly segregated).

Email notification to make up for accidental / misremembered clicks seems like overkill. Try visiting the favorites page any time you want to check / prune it.

wgp, we have a work-around for that: lots and lots of alcohol. Unfortunately, it seems to simultaneously create additional sordid chapters, resulting in an infinite loop...
