who wants in on a new project? September 9, 2006 2:09 PM Subscribe
Seeing as how the metafilter/metachat postcard swap is long dead, who wants in on a new project? More details to be hammered out here.
(Please e-mail interest/addresses to me for the time being [e-mail in profile] until we hear from safetyfork, who will be helping with the organizing.)

For those folks who want in.
This is interrobang's show. His rules (deadlines and such) stand. He's the project's daddy, so to speak. :)
I'll help to compile and email out the swap sets. To get in on the bookmark makin' and sharin' send your meta- (chat | filter) username, as well as the name and address you want to have your swap buddy mail the bookmark to and any special mailing instructions to: mefimailswap AT-SYMBOL gmail DOT com. This includes folks who have already posted "I'm in" comments in thread, thanks!
Example, using false data:
safetypup
Albert Gray
123 Pluto Way, Apartment G
Crooklyn, NY 11211
After the opt-in deadline has been met, I'll probably take the following weekend to pair people up and send out the set emails. I reserve the right to take less time, or more. I won't do last minute pair-ups or help in posting any images to flickr or the blog. I love a good art by mail idea, but it's a busy season for the fork.
The set master, that's me, is not responsible for your partner's ability to complete their end of the deal in any way (including but not limited to failure to swap, failure to follow special instructions, etc).
Swappers note: Its the World Wide Web extra postage may apply.

The above was pasted from my metachat post. Those of you who've already e-mailed interrobang...may need to work it out with him, but I'd highly recommend e-mailing the mefiswap gmail address and supplying info in the format above so that the set master will have an easier time pairing you up with someone (rather than a forwarded mail from interrobang). Thanks!

I guess it depends on how many people want to do it. Does two weeks sound all right? This isn't supposed to be a really big deal.

I'm in. Maybe this will cure me of my dogearing ways.

A clarification: maybe let's say the "deadline" is two weeks to get your addresses in to the mefimailswap AT-SYMBOL gmail DOT com e-mail account. Then we'll pair up some people.
This isn't like the CD swap, where you have to send out five things, and get five things. For the first "round", let's say we're just pairing people up—you send out one bookmark, and you get one. How does that sound?

Excellent, I'm totally in! I miss the old mail art swap and am sad that it sort of imploded. I got some cool stuff in the mail.
