The latest Sydney meetup was scheduled for Sun 17th September at the Alfred in Camperdown...it turns out that this is the day of the Marrickville Festival (pdf). Anybody interested in a shift of venue? The crowds could be both an upside & a downside. There is a half-decent pub on the main drag (The Royal Exchange). If it's too much hassle, then I'm easy. All these festivals are pretty similar, and Newtown & Glebe are both coming up soon...

It's also the day of the Marathon (and Half-Marathon, and Bridge Run - which I'm doing), which might make traffic difficult for anybody not coming on a train...

and battle the old fart regulars in their stained bonds singlets & shorts, TAB slips in their pockets & formguides wedged into their brut-33'd armpits?

we could also end up with one continegent in marrickville, one in camperdown, the way this kitten-herding is going.

um, no.

probably best just to stick to the alfred - not many people seemed to notice this second thread.

that, and the fact that festival crowds + the only pub i can think of in marrickville rd = a shitfight for drinks, seats, pool games etc.

cannot do so from work. will try tonight. kinda late.

think i've used up my MeTa privileges for the week, courtesy of a callout the other day, so somebody else might have to take over coordination duties...?
