I think that's my fault! Sorry! I was trying to do this and my fingers slipped! Color me embarrassed! I throw myself on the mercy of the court. Can someone fix it? Thanks!

Yeah, I was about to post a comment there, too. Tsk tsk. No soup for you.

I think I fixed it. But it could still use some cleanin' up.

Mmmmm... Burnt Ochre...

*salivates*

I was pointing to that link cuz there was a funny in it about Mad magazine:

"I got the darned thing and was disappointed with it. It said every issue was on the CD. I have been here at my desk for weeks looking at ALL the CDs and have not seen even 1 issue. I have even used my magnifying glass. All I see are little swirls that go around the round disk."

It's not about Cracked magazine though, so it was a derail anyway. I just can't win for losin' today. =(

Looks great Wolfdog. Thanks! ...what'd you do? Could I have done that? I just panicked! This is what I get for MeFi'ing when I'm easily distracted by work.

You know, email works great for this sort of thing, unless you really want to do the great rending of garments in front of everyone. It's solidly fixed now, but I have no idea what you did. It froze Firefox right up.

He started a link with <a href='whatever, and the unmatched tick caused the problem. It would be easy for someone to do this intentionally to break a thread and make commenting difficult, so you might want to check for odd numbers of ticks when comments are submitted. Whoa, black hole.

Cue quonsar making fun of MetaFilter's coding as ancient, simplistic, and in desperate need of a rewrite.

somehow that comment got attributed to me although I posted a jab at quonsar that was completely unrelated to the thread.

The Casper thread is still kind of broken, by the way, with Afroblanco's byline incorrectly formatted and a couple of "phantom comments" that are in the database but invisible on the page.

I was wondering what that was all about. Thanks for the fix, Jessamyn.

okay NOW it's fixed. This type of thing happens when people type a href='http://example.com" - so starting with a single quote and ending with a double.

Derailing my own thread...

How do I make this better? Cuz I blatantly stole Tracy's html years ago and now I'm tired of lookin' at it but I'm afraid to try and re-engineer the page for fear I'll do to it what I accidently did to the Kaspar thread. =(

ZM, you're out of luck. If you try to alter that page at all, it will revert back to boring old normal because mathowie was afraid that people could use the custom style stuff to hack things. So, I'd either leave it alone or be prepared to say goodbye to it.
