On AskMe I have to click "mark as best answer" about four times to actually choose a response as best. This has been happening to me sporadically both yesterday and today. Doesn't matter what thread of mine I am on in particular either.

What OS? What browser are you using? If it's Firefox do you have greasemonkey running. If so, what extensions are you running?

Seems that it's a refresh problem on my side. I can mark an answer as best although it doesn't show up immediately. Checking in another browser (IE) after selecting an answer in Firefox proves this. At least I think the issue isn't on MeFi's end. I am running an older version of Firefox though. You can close this post if you want.

Happens to me too. Firefox, no extensions, version 1.5.0.4.

Happened to me last night. It is indeed a matter of waiting a minute or so and refreshing.

It also happened to me three days ago using Camino 1.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.4.7. I seem to recall clicking on the designated answer 4-5 times before it "stuck".

Ah, I know what the problem is. The page is cached, and updating every 60 seconds or so. So you click the best answer thing and it doesn't update the page for another minute or less. I'll fix that.

For what it's worth, it's happening to me too. XP and firefox 1.5.0.4. But it sounds like Matt's on top of it...
