I am having trouble finding a post to a cool web tool (java, maybe?) where you chose a parameter or some colors, then dragged your mouse around to make spline-y funky patterns. It seems it would have been especially useful to make cool mathy looking web backgrounds. I haven't the foggiest idea what search terms to even start with, and those I've tried have come up empty. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Hmm, I'm just talking crazy nonsense apparently.
It's not so much a color picker as a semi-3d spline drawing weird tool... sort of a spirograph kind of thing? I don't know how to describe it... argh!

The first thing I thought of when reading this was a spirograph.
Here's the MeFi search results, maybe this FPP or this one - or the link in Wolfdaddy's comment - is what you're looking for.

dhruva has found it almost exactly.. except that one seems locked to one kind of color/thing .. I think it's the same exact tool, but it used to have settings and whatnot?
that's it though!!

Thanks to dhruva for finding one of the ones on the site I was looking for, I was able to find the rest in this post.
