Default colours in Projects. June 20, 2006 4:10 AM Subscribe
Default colours in Projects. The default purple denoting a used link in Projects is near impossible to read against the background colour. Any chance of a change?
There should just be an option to change the background for Projects, MeFi, MeTa and AskMe to whatever colour you want. That would serve a dual purpose of stopping people crying about the color of Projects and giving Matt more work to do.

No, there shouldn't. We've already lost "on preview" to feature creep, do we also need to lose "the blue" et al?

I think biffa's problem only shows up in IE. It is, however, a wretched shade of purple. Please fix this, Matt.

I was only half serious. The last thing Matt needs is more work.

Isn't purple the standard visited links color? I know this is probably something you've done already but did you go into the Internet control panel (if you are using a PC) and make sure that "use windows colors" is unchecked in the color section? Does anyone else see this and know why it happens? The stylesheet for that page looks normal and unbroken to me at first glance.

Sorry, should have mentioned this a couple of months ago, I just assumed someone would fix it.
IE's pulling funny stuff with the link styles.
Matt, if you make the pseudo-rules for links more specific they get applied.
I tested it using rules in the linked stylesheet like
which seemed to work just fine. I don't know if that would affect something unexpected elsewhere on the site.
And no, I don't know why it does this.

jess, the purple may be the default color, but the weird thing is that it only shows up on Projects. Every other part of MeFi displays its color scheme properly.
