How do I change my email in my profile?
Yeah, change to a new email and also remember to check off if you want other members to be able to see it (non-members can't)

team lowkey and mathowie:
Thanks for not totally piling on zia here. It's worth noting that it's somewhat unintuitive to find where to change your profile. People are used to seeing "Profile", or being able to change their profile when looking at their own (i.e. clicking on "twiggy" when I see "logged in as twiggy")...
It does take a second to realize "oh, Preferences over there, that might be it".
Of course there's a challenge in deciding if that's really worth bothering to adjust... probably not, as it's minor... but it does sort of deviate from what people are used to on typical sites.

I'll just add it to the faq. Most people seem to be able to figure this out.

That is true. Even when answering the question, I had to scan the page a few times thinking "I know there's a profile link tucked in here somewhere. No, not that profile, the editable one". I always have to find it by process of elimination. It's probably worth it to add a "Change your profile" link on the profile page, if you are logged in and viewing your own profile.

If you look at your own profile page, I could easily have a "edit profile" link prominently displayed on the page itself. I'll do that later today.

Consistancy alert! Profile and Preferences refer to the same thing, only one is editable. Could we standardize the naming conventions?

"Preferences" allows you to make changes to stuff like type size and face and color scheme, which doesn't apply to one's "Profile" necessarily.

"Edit Your Profile" makes the most sense on the profile page. "Change" could mean "switch to a different profile", and there's no need for a Settings or Preferences adjoiner. If you're on the profile page, you want to change your profile. If you wanted to change your preferences, you would be looking for the preferences link. Just because they go to the same place doesn't mean the link has to cover all contingencies.

An edit your profile link was added to the page, when viewing your own profile. It'll jump down to the profile-specific options on the preferences page.

Yes it is, but it's not where you get a correct answer.
