Can we have pictures of ourselves?

With meetups gearing up, and an eventual section to handle this being engineered (did I read that right?) - would it make sense to have an area that allowed/promoted users to upload (links to) images of themselves?

This could be done in a variety of ways - I guess it could be seen as a bit creepy or even unimaginative to some (especially when comments are scrutinised by media, et al) - so some kind of opt in to filter users who are aiming to be at a meetup (purely for identification purposes), would be preferable.

What do you think?

You mean like this? You could always link to a photo of yourself on your user page, if you want. I wouldn't.
