I'm referring to this question and this response. Look, Unified Theory, I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt here, and assume that maybe you didn't read the entirety of a rather long and rambly OP. And I actually agree with parts of your post - I hated the way the question was phrased as well, and I agree that the assumption that it's automatically creepy for an older guy to be attracted to a younger woman is both sexist and ageist. And, I agree with the many other posters stating the the OP that she handled the situation in a very naive way, and needs to give serious thought to how she sets her own boundaries in situations like this. I don’t want to point out anyone or any thread in particular, but something I find odd; In almost every MT thread associated with any small controversy (and they’re all small) someone will jump in, usually right away, with "we should close this up", which as far as I can tell is not up for vote but at the discretion of the mods. Can someone explain for me why it seems like whenever there is good news (with political aspects) announced on the Blue, there always seems to be a compulsion to bring forth what The Other Side Says? I'm thinking of things like this and this, for recent examples, but it used to be quotes from Little Green Footballs or whoever was the MetaFilter bete noire of the day. (This is not a callout and I'm not asking anyone to stop--I just don't understand why people would intentionally seek out opinions they find repugnant.) [more inside]

This post by Lemurrhea was just deleted. I can certainly see why it needed to be deleted (it was an exceedingly thin post informing us that Neutral Milk Hotel has started touring again after 15 years).
