To she or not to she
Earlier today I posted this thread about transgender discrimination on the blue. Quote from hate group included in extended led to good question re quotes and misgendering. [more inside]

Accessibility suggestion for the deaf/hard of hearing
I am hard of hearing and it would be helpful to have notations on videos about their level of accessibility. For example, if they include speech, is it captioned? Are there captions, but only auto generated? Does the speech contain information necessary to watch the video? Does it add some other value (e.g. humor)? Is it music only? Ambient noise? This would also be useful for people who cannot listen to the video because they are at work or school because then they know whether or not to bother watching it now, or save it for later. Remember: almost all of us are going to become hard of hearing if we live long enough. [more inside]

How much framing does an FPP need?
Tough election season, posts at all related to election need extra modding, etc. So how much framing does an FPP that's really not about the election need, to escape necessarily non-nuanced vetting by exhausted mods? [more inside]

Reading the room on international posts
I was a bit disappointed when the recent thread about Iceland's elections devolved into lolz pretty much from the get go. Would it be possible for us as a community to be a little more conscious of how we approach posts about other countries? [more inside]

Can we stop attacking left-of-Clinton/anti-establishment folks on here?
There is no problem with individuals expressing views critical of Sanders, Stein, Snowden, Greenwald etc. The problem is when an echo chamber develops making pro-establishment-ism the only acceptable position and vehemently jumping on views to the contrary with more emotion than reason.
It seems to me that MeFi 2016 has become such an echo chamber. This is no doubt due to the very real threat posed by Donald Trump and the Republican Party, and the consequent necessity of a Clinton win, but has developed to the point where it has the effect of recursively self-amplifying a pro-establishment position and silencing more radical/anarchist/antifa or otherwise anti-establishment views.

World Series on Fanfare?
Is there a possibility that we could have some open threads on FanFare for the upcoming World Series? There are several teams in the mix to this point whose participation could be historic, so interest will quite possibly be higher than ever. I think we did the Olympics and the World Cup, IIRC, so this wouldn't be unprecedented. Is that a thing we could do?

Where is the place to discuss deletion policies?
In the context of a discussion about Trump's hot mic tape, and whether this reflected common experience or not, I recently had a comment deleted. (I can't don't it in the thread or in my activity or recent favorites etc, so I assume it's gone.) [more inside]
Trumps comment truncated
I was surprised in the latest election thread to see that Donald Trump's "Grab them by the pussy" comment was bowderlerized when it was printed as a link to a video of the comment, but printed in full when a partial transcript of his remarks was reprinted. Is this something that's just at the disgression of the poster? Otherwise, I'd don't understand the inconsistency. (I think I understand the arguments for and against each method of handling Trump's vulgar language, but having both versions in a single post is puzzling.)

British or personality disorder?
Reading the answers to this question I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed that the nation of 60 odd-million people that I belong to has been reduced to a bit of a caricature here. Metafilter normally does very well at avoiding stereotypical depictions of different nationalities and/or minorities of many kinds, so I'm curious as to why this rather broad brush approach to the British has been allowed to stand without comment or intervention.
