From time to time Mrs. Gogue and I will be looking for something new and interesting to watch on YouTube on our Roku. MetaFilter is a great source of interesting videos but it's a little awkward to browse MeFi then jump over to the Roku and search YouTube for the video. What if MetaFilter had a YouTube channel that automatically added videos to the channel whenever a YouTube link is posted to the blue? It would be convenient for multi-person watching. It might also bring in more ad bucks.

This is a very small idea/request. Would it be possible to add a button/flair/visual or text icon to things like the Free Thread and live news/megathreads (such as the ones for the ongoing Ukraine conflict) to make them visually distinct and easy to find as one scans down the front page of the Blue? I think the Free Thread has definitely taken off as an idea and the megathreads are clearly very useful, so it would be good to make it easier to spot them. [more inside]

I'm saddened by the demise of Longform.org. MeFi is a great way to discover longform articles, but I miss Longform's RSS feed, which was clean and concise. I'm wondering if there's some way to implement a current-longform-journalism-focused feed, or a reliable tagging mechanism that is hyper-focused on only current longform journalism. Apologies if this has been covered already. I couldn't find anything. Thanks!

This seems like a huge opportunity that the MeFi empire should jump on. was a comment made about Wirecutter becoming useless. I agree with the sentiment. Any way to make this happen?

This is the most minor problem. Fanfare has five categories in the sidebar on the right: TV, Movies, Podcasts, Books, and Special Events. The first three (TV, Movies, and Podcasts) link to the Archives page, naming their links respectively "See All TV Shows," "See All Movies," and "See All Podcasts." Although that very same Archives page has an equivalent list for Books, however, there is no "See All Books" link. Is this intentional?

Is there any way for MeFites to download/export our own posts? I'm pretty sure the Comments download only gets comments, not posts. If this feature doesn't yet exist, could it go on the list of nice-to-have features? [more inside]

I'm been trying to think of a non-clunky, non-pain-in-the-ass way for people to keep abreast of ongoing/current discussions in pre-existing episode FanFare threads for a given TV show, and I don't know what the answer is. [more inside]
